Thankfully i somehow snapped the stem/shaft on the steering column on my G25 and Logitech replaced it with a G27, so i didnt have to pay £275 or w/e, but its barely any improvement, which is a real shame when the G25 was available for £100-150.Īs others have said, download one of the demos of a racing sim, Shift might be alright, but if you just want to get that FFB experience im betting Dirt2 will give the best results because you'll feel the offroad surface and car/tyre feedback. Its better, but not good enough to justify being over £100 (infact roughly twice the price) more expensive than a G25, and thats why they dont co-exist. It really is a shame that Logitech decided to just discontinue the G25 for no good reason than to release the G27 at a unreasonably marked up price for what little difference there is. Wheels dont give rumble, they give feedback that you'd feel through the car, which is why it probably feels horrible and inaccurate when the wheel is just being told to wobble left & right violently. You'll get years out of it, unless you decide you want to switch up to one of the better wheels eventually when you realise how much of an improvement racing sims are while using them, and thats the key part, racing sims, not racing games like Burnout, because they're not designed to emulate a realistic driving experience on a wheel.Įven something like Dirt 2, which has a heavy emphasis of arcade influence, a wheel makes it so much more fun and the game will geniunely be designed with wheel users and joypads in mind, rather than just ensuring they work and thats enough.īurnouts FFB wont be designed for a wheel, you'll just be getting a canned dualshock rumble. I had the DFP when that was the GT4 wheel, and they're great for what they are, a budget wheel which isnt flimsy tat and will improve the overall experience. Maybe you where expecting too much - remember that on your controller you where steering lock to lock within 1/2 a second - now how is that realistic? the wheel on the other hand will take more time. Re the sound - check some youtube videos - some show the start up sequence etc so you can compare to yours I got mine not to long ago and got Dirt2 to go with it - must say it is absolutely awesome in this game the feedback and rumbles from the track is amasing - did feel slightly let down trying it with GTPrologue but it does what it should in regards to actual real car wheel movements when oversteering etc.īuilt myself a wooden stand for it - solid as a rock now and fits prefectly against my recliner

The wheel has force feedback which makes the steering heaver & lighter depending on grip levels (for example when jumping really light) Gird may have a option to switch from 900 degree to 200 degree turning lock to lock. There won't be much in the way of instructions as you plug and play - the wheel compatibilty, wheel button setup, force feed back is all to do with the game & in game settings if they made the game to work with the wheel.

need to make sure the wheel is plugged and powered before you start a game from the xmb i think. It the official GT wheel - the dial the +/- buttons are for adjusting settings in GT5 mid race (& GTprologue) - not sure about other games.
